Terung Iban

Terung Iban also known as “terung bulu and terung asam” is popular in Sarawak nowadays. This plant is the family of eggplant, which is known for its taste can fit in variety of cooking. This eggplant come from Africa, also named as African eggplant from its origin place. When it turns ripe, the colour change into orange yellowish and there are delicate white hairs around it. In Sarawak, terung Iban can be cooked in soup with dried fish, fry and so on in most of food recipes because of uniqueness of its taste is able to mix with many dishes Terung Iban rich of water, carbohydrate, protein, fat, fibre, mineral and vitamin which it is one of the healthy fruit to consume. Terung Iban can be found planted by people or grow wild in the woods makes it easy to get and you can see many people would sell it in Sarawak nowadays.
