Perahu Panjang (Long Boat) in Sarawak

Perahu panjang also known as long boat can be found everywhere along the Rajang River in Sarawak. Long boat currently is still the main transport for orang ulu since back then until nowadays. Mostly places in Sarawak are still using this transportation until today because their places out of reach by roads. There is many incidents regarding to long boat accidents in Sarawak due to the fast-flow river current and mostly old design of long boat cannot withstand strong current of water. The picture shows the strong design of long boat, which can support many passengers or loads within it. For now, there is decrease in numbers of incidents regarding to the long boat.
